Based on the bestseller by K.C. McKinnon, this touching film stars Alicia Silverstone as Dee Dee, a single mom and professional candlemaker who returns home to Maine with her twelve-year-old son Trooper after a lengthy absence. Matthew Knight won a Young Artist Award for his portrayal of Trooper, and Annabeth Gish is terrific as the jealous wife of Sam, Dee Dee's childhood friend who once had a crush on her. As time goes by, Dee Dee's true motive for returning is revealed, and the redemptive powers of friendship and trust ultimately shine bright.
